Kat Geng-Caraballo

Visual Artist & Founder

Kat Geng-Caraballo is a Colombian-American visual artist based in Brooklyn, NY.

Her sculptures, video art and community activated artworks explore identity and wellbeing often through cathartic experiences of play.

Her most beloved materials - familial objects imbedded with personal meaning - tell their own encoded stories. In 2019, when in quarantine with a few dozen fabric puppets from her grandparents traveling puppet theater, her work expanded to soft sculpture.

Fast forward five years, she has isolated the most prominent feature and elevated it as the original family heirloom worthy of another look.

Training & Exhibition History

After earning a B.A. in Art History from Bard College, I began my objects training in art conservation at The Williamstown Art Conservation Center at the Clark Art Institute in Massachusetts. My work has been exhibited, BRIC Arts Media and includes solo exhibitions at The NIAD Art Center, Royal Nonesuch Gallery and Counterpulse. She received a Sculpture Fellowship to Anderson Ranch Arts Center and has participated in artist residencies at The Foundation House, Vermont Studio Center and Bric Arts Media to name a few.
